The Voting Process

HOW THE WORLD LINE DANCE AWARDS WORK

The World Line Dance Awards were created to recognize the artists, instructors, choreographers, creators, performers, and leaders who continue to shape the world of line dance.

From nomination to the final award, our process is designed to celebrate both community voice and industry recognition.

01 — NOMINATIONS OPEN

Nominations open January 1.

The line dance community is invited to submit the names of individuals, dances, events, creators, and organizations they believe deserve recognition.

Nominations are open to the public and welcome voices from across the line dance community.

You nominate. We listen.

02 — NOMINATIONS ARE REVIEWED

Once nominations close, submissions are reviewed for eligibility and placed into the appropriate award categories.

Multiple nominations for the same person do not automatically determine a finalist. This stage is about identifying qualified nominees—not creating a popularity contest.

03 — THE NOMINATING COMMITTEE

A diverse committee of respected voices from across the line dance industry reviews the eligible nominees.

The committee brings perspectives from choreography, instruction, competition, events, music, media, entertainment, and the dancing community.

The Founder & Committee Chair oversees the process but does not vote.

04 — OFFICIAL NOMINEES ARE ANNOUNCED

Following the committee review, the official World Line Dance Awards nominees are revealed.

Nominees are celebrated across World Line Dance Awards platforms as part of the people, work, and moments that helped shape the line.

05 — COMMUNITY VOTING OPENS

Now the line dance community gets its voice.

Public voting opens for selected award categories, giving dancers and supporters around the world an opportunity to recognize the people and work that have made an impact on them.

06 — INDUSTRY & COMMUNITY VOTES ARE VERIFIED

After voting closes, eligible votes are reviewed and verified.

Where applicable, public voting and committee or judging results are combined according to the established criteria for each award category.

The goal is simple:

Recognition with integrity.

07 — FINALISTS ARE ANNOUNCED

The finalists for the World Line Dance Awards are officially revealed.

These individuals and organizations represent excellence, influence, creativity, leadership, and meaningful contributions to line dance.

08 — THE WORLD LINE DANCE AWARDS

The journey ends on one stage.

Nominees, dancers, instructors, choreographers, creators, industry leaders, and communities come together in Los Angeles for the World Line Dance Awards.

Winners are revealed live and honored in front of the community they helped inspire.

But this night is bigger than a trophy.

It is a celebration of the history we inherited, the people moving line dance forward today, and the next generation waiting to make its mark.
